The Ballast-Free Ship Concept\u00a0ya da Ballasts\u0131z Gemi Konsepti’ne ili\u015fkin ilk \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma 2002<\/span><\/em> senesinde, Amerika’daki University of Michigan<\/em><\/span>‘da\u00a0ba\u015flad\u0131. 2004 sonlar\u0131nda ise Amerika’daki Gemi M\u00fchendisleri Birli\u011fi<\/em><\/span>‘nin y\u0131ll\u0131k toplant\u0131s\u0131nda elde edilen ilk veriler a\u00e7\u0131kland\u0131. Bu konsept sayesinde IMO gereklerini kar\u015f\u0131lamak \u015fart\u0131 ile yak\u0131t tasarrufu sa\u011flamak ve ballast al\u0131p vermekten do\u011fan zararl\u0131 \u00e7evresel etkileri azaltmak planlan\u0131yor. Ayr\u0131ca bu konsept sayesinde Ballast Treatment Sistemleri’ne de gerek duyulmuyor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gemideki ballast, gemi \u00fczerinde bir a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131\u011fa sebep olur. Bu da geminin hareketi esnas\u0131nda daha fazla g\u00fc\u00e7 ihtiyac\u0131n\u0131 meydana getirir. Daha fazla g\u00fc\u00e7 elde etmek i\u00e7in, ana makine daha fazla yak\u0131t<\/em><\/span> harcar. Bu konseptte balast suyu gemide depolanmayaca\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in, g\u00fc\u00e7 ihtiyac\u0131 ve dolay\u0131s\u0131 ile yak\u0131t harcama miktar\u0131n\u0131n d\u00fc\u015fece\u011fi \u00f6ng\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcyor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al\u0131nan ballast, \u00e7e\u015fitli mikroorganizmalar\u0131<\/em><\/span> ve tek h\u00fccreli canl\u0131lar\u0131 da i\u00e7inde bar\u0131nd\u0131r\u0131r. Ballast farkl\u0131 bir co\u011frafyada bas\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda bu organizmalar da farkl\u0131 bir b\u00f6lgeye ta\u015f\u0131nm\u0131\u015f olur. Bu kirlili\u011fi engellemek i\u00e7in \u00e7e\u015fitli kurallar bulunmaktad\u0131r ancak Ballast-Free Ship Konsept, bu sorunu da tamamen ortadan kald\u0131rabilecek bir \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm. Bu konsept sayesinde ballast bas\u0131m\u0131 \u00f6ncesinde herhangi bir treatment (temizleme) ihtiyac\u0131 bulunmuyor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bu konsepte geminin ba\u015f ve k\u0131\u00e7 taraflar\u0131nda bir ya da iki \u015fer adet delik bulunur. Deniz suyu balb’\u0131n tam ortas\u0131nda ya da yanlar\u0131nda bulunan deliklerden girer, pervanenin yanlar\u0131nda yer alan deliklerden ise d\u0131\u015far\u0131 \u00e7\u0131kar. Bu konsepte ballast tanklar\u0131 bulunmaz ve gemi \u00fczerinde ballast ta\u015f\u0131nmaz. Deniz suyu devaml\u0131 olarak ba\u015f taraftan girerken, k\u0131\u00e7 taraftan at\u0131l\u0131r. \u0130htiya\u00e7 halinde valfler ile giri\u015f ve \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015f delikleri kapat\u0131labilir. Valfler kapat\u0131ld\u0131ktan sonra ise geminin i\u00e7inde kalm\u0131\u015f olan deniz suyu ballast pompalar\u0131 vas\u0131tas\u0131 ile bo\u015falt\u0131labilir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
